Featuring the exquisite soprano voice of Kerry Walsh, these beloved arias recall the magical and gripping moments within these masterpieces..."Passion" truly uncovers the highlights and wonder of this form and the fierce emotional potential of the art.
Reviewer: Rick Mathis (Orlando) Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen has always been one of those consistently strong bass players that have lent their talent to nearly all of the great jazz artists for decades. This album, under his own leadership, shows a slightly different side of the artist. The music owes as much to european music as to blues. Is all of the music here "jazz"? Who cares. What matters is that the music presented here is consistantly enjoyable. The musicians, which include Ulf Wakenius on guitars and Jonas Johansen on drums, bring a subtle beauty to the music. The guests, which are many, include Phil Woods on saxaphone, Oscar Peterson on piano, and vocalists Monica Zetterfund and Monique. Of special note is the wonderful track "Summer Song" which features the artist Monique on vocals. Believe me when I tell you that this track alone is worth the price of the cd. All in all, you simply can't go wrong with this very enjoyable album.
Canada's most popular roots rock band, Blue Rodeo became a veritable institution in their home country, although they never quite moved beyond cult status in the U.S. Their sound is a basic blend of country, folk, and rock, but with a definite pop appeal.
Awards: "Best Female Vocalist 2000" "Best Contemporary Blues Band, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002" (Inducted into the Cascade Blues Association Hall of Fame 2002) "Best Performance Of The Year 2002" (at the Waterfront Blues Festival)
Another AMAZING CD by Chris Burton Jacome. Chris' flamenco music has a feel and sound that takes you right to Spain. You will be singing along with his guitar melodies all day. This is a truly beautiful album that will stay in your CD player for months.
New urban folksongs, blues with a touch of humor. Featuring titles like "Sensitive Man Gets Tuff", "Deadman Blues","Pitbull Boogie" and the tribute to all part time players, "Local Superstar."
Rockin Blues. Having performed with Brad Gillis of Ozzie Osborne and Night Ranger, The Marshall Tucker Band, Chris Hicks of the Outlaws, Coco Montoya, Tommy Castro and many others, Robby Z has released his second solo CD and it "rocks".
