Det här handlar mer om sättet de släpper skivan på än själva musiken. Ute nu, i 5 olika paketeringar, från en gratisversion som innehåller de första 9 låtarna i "high-quality" mp3 till en deluxe-utgåva för $300 som innehåller cd-skivor, 180g vinyl m.m.
Den mest intressanta är dock utgåvan för $5, där man får välja en av följande format att ladda ner:
- 320kbps LAME-encoded MP3.
- FLAC
- Apple Lossless
Allt är DRM-fritt och så skickar de med en 40-sidors PDF med information om albumet och ett paket med lite bilder osv...
De gör "en Radiohead", fast bättre!

Herregud så sugen jag blir på superdelyx utgåvan, men det är ju en hel del pengar...
Hoppas fler artister hakar på trenden, särskilt vill jag se sköna vinylutgåvor av skivorna, dom skapar ett otroligt habegär hos mig jämfört med tråkiga cd askar och downloads.

Deluxeboxen är slutsåld, eller 100% uppbokad. Men det verkar komma en billigare vinylutgåva senare i april ändå:

Gött med en "vanlig" vinylutgåva. Den borde väl gå att köpa på hotstuff, synd att dom brukar vara så dyra bara men å andra sidan är dom ju välsorterade så...

Betalt, tankat och brännt. Snart även i min MP3spelare. FLAC var ju det självklara valet för mig. Detta måste ju bara stödjas. Billigt och utan en massa DRM-pest.
