ALI ESKANDARIAN - NOTHING TO SAY
Ali's ambient alt/country soundscapes, mixed with his edgy songwriting and singing set him apart in todays music scene.
Ali Eskandarian was born a few months before the climax of the Iranian revolution September 11th 1978 in Pensacola Florida where his father was being trained by the Americans. Upon the completion of the training Ali and his family returned to Tehran, Iran's capital and the family hometown. After the war was over and the Ayatollah Khomeini died (1989) the family moved to Aachen, Germany and were granted political asylum by the German government. After nearly 2 years in Germany the family were granted political asylum by the US government and moved to Dallas, Texas where Ali went to High School and College. Ali attended the award winning Quad C theater program @ the Collin County Community College in Plano Texas where he studied acting for 2 yrs. After that he moved to Los Angeles for a year to pursue a career in acting. He then returned to Dallas to concentrate on the band he played with, The Warm Jets. He moved to NYC in July of 2003 so he could play with the big boys. "I knew that people's ears opened wider in NYC". Ali is influenced by many kinds of music from Iranian Pop, jazz and traditional music to Indian, Greek, Italian, and German(krautrock) to Glamrock, blues, country, jazz, psychedelic rock, YOU NAME IT. Rusty Flores
Blusy in a Bob Welch sort of way with a touch of alt country and dreamlike vocals
Rusty Flores:
Helsingborgsbandet BEN har gått i graven men återuppstått som Rusty Flores.
BEN hade sin höjdpunkt när man blev inbjudna till den ansedda musikfestivalen i Austin, USA SXSW (South by southwest).
Två fantastiska skivor, på numera nedlagda Lunda-etiketten Ramblin’ records, hann man även med att ge ut.
Efter det blev bandets låtskrivare Daniel Frank och Andreas Ejnarsson erbjudna av Christian Kjellvander att medverka på hans solodebut ”songs from a two-room chapel”.
Efter tre år med Kjellvander har nu killarna tagit sig tid och återuppstått som Rusty Flores.
Det har blivit en något reviderad upplaga både vad gäller medlemmar och sound.
Vi på West Side är dock enormt stolta över att få ge ut Rusty Flores självbetitlade debutalbum. Ett album till bredden fylld med underbara sånger. ”Bomb The Cabaret” (som också blev något av en smärre radiohit på flera P4-stationer), ”Waiting Room”, ”Mantralux” eller den senaste till radion skickade ”Water To River” är bara några av de fina låtar som denna skiva besitter.
Rusty Flores gjorde även ett par lyckade liveframträdanden under februari för att marknadsföra sig själva och debutalbumet. Stockholm - Debaser den 18/2, Göteborg –Pusterviksteater den 21/2 samt Helsingborg och Tivoli den 23/2 beöktes. Fler spelningar kommer senare i vår.
Förutom låtskrivaren Daniel Frank (även sång och gitarr) består Rusty Flores av Andreas Ejnarsson på bas och sång, Jonas Andersson på gitarr och andra stränginstrument, Dan Englund på klaviatur samt Peter Wildoer på trummor och percussion.
