Jag har lånat hem en AA MCD-203 och jämfört den med min H/K HD 970 och den låter helt fantastiskt. Mycket härligt slag, punch och driv i basen med det fina klarheten i mellanregistret (beror väl på rören). Och värmen... Diskanten är mycket fin och avrundad med naturlig klang. Den är aldrig, aldrig hård. Detta gör att man aldrig blir lyssningstrött. Något som man lätt kan bli efter någon timme med t.ex. ovan nämnda H/K, Cambridge Azur 640c eller Rotel RACD02. Min förra CD-spelare NAD C-542 hade samma mjukhet men den saknade 203:ans extrema dynamik samt en del skärpa.

Ska bara tillägga att med HDCD (ja, den har inbyggd dekoder) så växer ljudbilden ännu mer och närvaron blir kusligt äkta.

Denna läckerbit väger 9 kg och har ett rekommenderat listpris på 4995:-. Vad jag förstått så är den kapabel att mäta sig med spelare för dubbla pengen, såsom Vincent CD-6.

Den har dubbla RCA-utgångar som man kan nyttja för kabel-test eller bi-amping.

Jag kommer definitivt att byta ut min H/K mot denna.

Den har även balanserade utgångar för den som kan nyttja detta.

Priset på 203:an är numera korrigerat till 4995:-, fast jag har blivit lovad att få köpa den för 4500:- i alla fall.

I många EU-länder kostar den 600 Euro dvs 5600:-...

DAC:en kommer från "Analog Devices" men inte vilken som helst utan AD1853.
Denna verkar mycket kompetent och är inte direkt billig så här har man inte snålat vilket känns betryggande.

Är du fortfarande lika nöjd? Skulle vara intressant att veta hur en dylik cd står sig mot en DVD för 8-10 papp! Typ Denon 3910 eller Pioneer DV989?

Jag är supernöjd! Jag saknar dock lite tighthet i basen, men spelaren är inte inspelad ännu. Dessutom har jag beställt mkt finare rör (JJ Tesla 803S) som jag tror kommer att köra underverk för ljudet. Läs detta som jag hittade på ett franskt forum och har översatt med Babelfish:

"Hello with all I will make you share of my personal experiment with the MCD-203. I acquired of this reader approximately 2 months ago. At the time of my listening, this small platinizes CD was in competition with Marantz SA11S1... which is worth 2 times more expensive! With listening, Marantz had appeared logically better to me, more precise, more details, a low register better definite... but a colder sound. I specify that my retailer had just supplied it what means that it was not ground. At the sight of the difference in price and taking into account the good services of the MCD-203, I bought it. At the end of 2 weeks, the sound had changed already much, more low register, better opening but always a lack of definition, an "unmethodical" sound enough. At this point in time I decided to replace tubes 12AX7 of Chinese origin by more famous models. I then equipped my reader with a pair of JJ Tesla ECC803S which one finds a little everywhere with 10 euros coin... The difference was ENORMOUS! I can say that the qualitative profit is spectacular, it to you is like so before, my enclosures were covered. It is an undeniable asset of platinums with tubes because the upgrade is easy and the tubes of origin are often bad. I think that it is a data to consider when one hesitates between a model tubes and a model transistor in the same range of price... I will try other tubes in the weeks to come (Mullard CV4024)... for the fun... I would hold you informed results obtained. But I am already very satisfied with my MCD-203 version JJ Tesla ECC803S.

Thank you Christophe_35 for the pipe, I ordered myself a small pair of 12AX7LPS. One will see what Ca returns on the MCD 203. If not, I assembled today a pair of Mullard CV4024. It is very well. The low register is much more physical than with the JJ Tesla, Ca goes down really low. The medium returned a little ahead, I prefer. On the other hand, but in my case it is an advantage, the acute ones are a little in withdrawal. The sound is less crystalin but there is more matter. In short, I am increasingly satisfied with the performance of this small platinize and warmly recommend to all the owners to install tubes of good invoice. It seems to to me that in this tariff segment, the advance is a good bargain. I perhaps will contact the store which sold it to me to give it vis-a-vis in Marantz with its new weapons... business being followed when I would have received Sovtek

For me indeed Mullard are better because of their acute the softer. I must announce you that I have JM Lab Cobalt with a tweater which should not be too excited. With other enclosures, calmer in the acute ones, the JJ Tesla would be perhaps better... In any case, you are right in your step, the JJ Tesla are ENORMOUSLY higher than the tubes of first goes up. I hold you with the juice for Sovtek... and we await your Cr when you recover the matos"

Nu har jag bytt ut rören i min 203:a till ECC803S (och spelat in dem i 12 timmar), och jag kan bara säga;

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...!!!

Vilken skillnad!!! Jag var tveksam till att det skulle märkas någon skillnad men WOW!!!

Allting presenteras mkt snyggare nu; basen är rappare, torrare och är lättare att följa.
Rösterna är så verkliga så att ljudet för första gången släpper från frontarna och nu hänger fritt i mitten, som om ljudet kom från en osynlig centerkanal. Magiskt!
Och diskanten är lite mer framträdande än med originalrören, men den är absolut inte vass.
Den är istället ännu mer spröd och glittrig, det låter så vackert så vackert...
Och hela ljudbilden är avgjort större med mkt mer luft mellan instrumenten.
Det tog inte ens tre sekunder in i första låten [URL=http://www.cdon.com/product.phtml?prod=395830]Blacknuss "All your lovin´"[/URL] innan jag smälte som smör och blev imponerad av det mäktiga ljudet... :wub: :wub: :wub:

Detta var absolut de mest välinvesterade 400:- jag NÅGONSIN lagt på ett HIFI-tweak!
